What is Invisalign?
Clear aligners, also known as a clear-aligner treatment, are orthodontic devices that are a transparent, plastic form of dental braces used to adjust teeth. Invisalign is popular in adults as the aligners are transparent and the removable trays are barely noticeable.
The aligners are custom-made to fit your teeth and as time progresses, the trays get tighter and move your teeth into the required position to create a straight smile. Unlike metal braces, Invisalign aligners can be easily removed for regular maintenance of the teeth or special occasions.
Step 1. Initially, our Arays Dental Clinic will assess if you are suitable for this type of treatment. Subsequently, they take photos, X-rays, and digital impressions of your teeth and create a treatment plan based on that.
Step 2. We will then use these records, along with the treatment plan, to create a computerized 3D representation of your teeth. The team will show you the treatment plan. They will show you a simulation about how your teeth are expected to change during the treatment and a prediction of the final result.
Step 3. Once you agree upon the expected results, the team will organise the aligners for you. You have to wear these aligners for 1 – 2 weeks before you progress to the next stage.
You have to wear Invisalign aligners every day for 20-22 hours to maximise success. You should only remove them when you eat, drink and brush your teeth. The dentist will check the progress of the treatment every 4-6 weeks. The completion of the program depends upon the complexity of your case.
